Millet is one of the most digestible and non-allergenic grains. It is gluten-free, an antioxidant and is alkaline. It is rich in magnesium, phosphorus, fiber, niacin (B3), zinc, protein and serotonin (which has a calming effect on your mood). Millet is a prebiotic: A nondigestible carbohydrate that assists in the growth of desirable microflora (bacteria) in the large bowel. In other words, millet will keep you from being constipated. FLAXSEED / FLAXMEAL-
Flaxseeds are high in antioxidants and may have a protective effect against breast cancer, prostate cancer and colon cancer. The omega-3 fatty acid found in it, called ALA, inhibited tumor incidence and growth. Flaxseeds are gluten-free and alkaline. (Some free range chickens are fed flaxseed so their eggs are higher in omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are called the “good” fats). The lignans in flaxseed may help protect against cancer by blocking enzymes that are involved in hormone metabolism and interfere with the growth and spread of tumor cells. (3)
I heard a Chinese proverb by Confucius that I had to share. “Don’t be afraid of going slow………..Just be afraid of stopping“. It loosely translates to……..NEVER GIVE UP. No matter how long or hard the fight is…………………Never lose hope!! NEVER GIVE UP!!
